replacing 4T45E harness - need to remove valve body?

I'm getting ready to pull the side cover off my trans to replace my solenoids, pressure switch and harness. I was looking at the procedure on alldata and it indicates the entire valve body needs to come off in order to remove the connector housing from the transaxle case. Since that would mean I'd need to replace the valve body mounting gasket, I'd rather wait until I have it on hand before I tear into it. Can anyone confirm this?

The info also indicates that a special tool is needed to remove the connector, but I'd guess that one of my harbor freight picks would probably do the job.

Why are you replacing the internal harness? If you are just replacing solenoids unplug one at a time

You can replace the whole valve body or just the solenoids
