TCM Fitment question
Hello, I have a 2011 HHR LT with 2.2l engine. Was looking to replace the Transmission control module and wanted to check if it's the same unit as used on a 2.4l HHR.
TCM 24251062 is what we think it is. |
You might want to post this question in a more appropriate forum category. Putting it here in the Mid East forum, it won't get as many views.
Fwiw. I think the HHR uses the same TCM for all years and engine sizes. A replacement will have to be programmed to your car. They are not just a plug in. Question is. Why the need for a replacement ? Not a part that goes bad very often. Usually something else but folks seem to think it's a TCM problem when it seldom is. |
They may be the same physical unit but, they must be programmed to the specifics of your car.

Thanks for the replies! As for why we are looking at replacing, the Torque Converter is locking out when it shouldn't resulting in stalls when coming to a stop. We have already changed both solenoids for the cam timing and the one on top of the transmission. Also no check engine and NO codes to be pulled.
Thanks in advance for feedback. |
How long since you inspected the timing chain? A broken guide or weak tensioner, stretched chain. |
Wouldn't you suspect the torque converter solenoid? Find someone with a good code reader (run of the mill readers might not see them) should be able to come up with a specific code. Like P2763 or P2764.
I am not sure why you would think that one transistor in a computer would malfuntion before a mechanical solenoid. |
