Tow Hitch

have a 2006 LT is it okay to put a tow hitch on it? to pull a lawnmower around town no more than 15 miles a day not every day just occasionally. Anyone out there have a hitch on their hhr?

2014 LT ??? Last year of the HHR was 2011.
Read the owners manual for your year car. All the info regarding towing is in there.

I fixed your typo error, yes you could install a trailer hitch , Curt , Drawtite , UHaul , all basically just 4 bolts

Mines a Curt.

I put a hitch on my 2007 LS 5-speed many years ago and have pulled all kinds of things around, going VERY easy on the clutch. 320,000 kms on the original clutch no problemo.

HHR brakes have no problem slowing heavy trailers but make sure your rear brakes are properly adjusted. I manually adjust them twice a year and it always needs a few clicks. My auto-adjusters have never worked.

With the automatic I wouldn't use overdrive or do long trips or go over 60 mph / 100 kph, the trans might overheat and go boom.

A lawn mower. Should be no problem.

Hitch

I have one that I bought many years ago for our 2008 LT, and never installed it. You can have it for free if you can either come get it or meet us half way since we are in the DFW area. I guess I could ship it to you but that might cost more than it is worth.
