Transmission from a 2007 Cobalt?

There is a stub shaft, you put the clip ring on it and slide the cv axle over it. It does just pull out with a quick tug.

This kit fixed my situation it is designed for passenger side only .

That kit looks intriguing,,, did you have a lot of slop in yours? Obviously you did for the seal to leak. Did it tighten the slop up quite a bit? It’s a bit pricy but if it fixes the issue.
I did not seem to have an issue until I swapped the cv axle for a replacement. It was not a Detroit axle but some other off the wall brand on Amazon.

It’s a bit puzzling but I never had any leaks, only a noise like something is rubbing. That was my one and only warning before the axle popped out

The kit tightened up the bearing sloppy movement that caused my seal leak. The Detroit axle will work for a seal leak but not the transmission bearing internal were the stub shaft lives
