Question Clutch Life Expectancy

Hello all, I am new to the forum. I have a 2010 HHR LS with 109k on the clock and I was curious what members in the group have seen out of the factory clutch? I performed a few searches but didn't come up with much.

Also, what aftermarket fluids are you all running in the manual trans? I'm guessing that it's time for a fluid change in it.

Your Owner Manual has fluid info. See the link in my sig if you don't have one.

Don't know about clutch life, but not many members have posted about it.

Welcome to the site, I’m an automatic guy, but someone will chime in soon!

I know what fluid I can run but I was just curious which fluids work best for this transmission. For example, several guys on the Corvette forum run certain brands and had differing results in the T56 or TR6060 6 spd transmissions. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to add something that would cause me problems. I should have really been more specific on that one. Sorry guys.

Clutch life expectancy is hard to answer, that really depends on the driver(s) & their skill-set.

I guess reading the Owner Manual is just too much.

From page 7-10 of the 2010 Owner Manual, it doesn't care what brand of DEXRON VI you use.

Why are you attacking me? Did you even read my post above? I know what fluids are suggested. You can also run gear oils in these transmissions. I just had no idea if someone else was doing this here or not. Sheesh man....

Oh definitely. I was more asking to come up with an average. Some folks just shouldn't be allowed near a standard.

I understand & so true. OK, I recall a long time member that used his HHR to make deliveries, & he stated he got about 200,000 miles on his engine, clutch setup, & trans.

Your results may vary.

Wow, that is impressive. The most I have gotten out of factory clutch in anything was in an S2000. I was at around 144k mi.when I sold the car. Mostly highway but a few drag strip trips in there.
