Yeah, it's amazing what a little paint and different colored parts can do. I've swapped out my headlights and taillights for black ones, and painted various areas of the exterior and interior, but I haven't added a single body effect that wasn't already on the car. That was one of the aspects that really drew me to the SS...that it already came with a body kit all its own. I had an '05 PT Cruiser GT (that was the top of the line PT in terms of luxury and performance), and in stock form the GTs look very similar to the other trim levels. I added running boards, a scooped hood, and front and rear Mopar body effects. There's pics of the GT in my photos...it never really sang to me the way my HHR does. This car is definitely my favorite out of the many I've owned over the last 25 years...not even close. |
Me too, but more like 40 years, yours is unique and well done, good luck. :biggrin2:

Your dual exhaust is far more unique than anything I've done. Love that mod. Adds such an edge to the rear. Wish GM had done that from the factory. |
removed chicklets!? man! why didnt i think of that... such lil things make a great improvement . good work man! unique in deed!

Guess I was lucky. Mine came new chicklet-less.
|
yeah i would have to agree with you on that.. I hate the added dealer license plate covers and really hate the decal added .. NOT COOL!
funny thing about dealer i bought mine from just did the license plate cover. People of east michigan know them as "MORAN CHEVROLET" .. But the daughter (7 or 8 at the time) asked "why does your car say "MORON" on the back?" hahahah |

:twothumbs: Congrats on the win!

Congrats! Sweet ride for sure!
|
Thanks guys!
Gotta admit, wasn't expecting it...like I said in the voting thread, made a last-second decision to take some pics after work on the 29th between 6 and 7 pm after getting it washed, then got the pic thread up late that night...I actually thought NIA was going to take it before the voting began (no disrespect to the other rides (all of which were sweet), just had a gut feeling NIA was going to win). Feels nice to win on my first try...glad those who voted for it liked what I did! I think I'm more enthusiastic about my HHR now than I've ever been. :thumb: |
Congrats on the win!
|
congrats well deserved.

Glad you like the roof...I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out (did it about 2 years ago). I would love to see someone with a different color HHR (maybe silver) give it a try sometime. |
Where did you get the red and black bowtie center rim caps? Are they GM and, if so, do you have a GM part number for them?

This car is now for sale...$15k OBO. Currently has 51700 miles on it and is in excellent shape.
|
was the black roof done from factory? and im guessing its gloss?
looks good! |
Well, all good things come to an end. My HHR SS is sold as of 12/10/12. It was a terrific car, so much fun...I don't have anything but good things to say about it...it was my favorite out of all of the cars I have driven. I had an absolute blast in my 3.5 years driving it, but an Inferno Orange Metallic Camaro ZL1 awaits me...it's my dream car come true. It won't be a daily driver, so I will have it for many many years. But I will always have a most special place in my heart for my HHR...I will always remember my time spent with it fondly...

Car is now available at Gearhart Chevrolet in Denville, NJ
for $13,985. Car is in excellent shape, didn't give me so much as a hiccup in my 3.5 year. Hoping a true enthusiast get their hands on it.
