Must have some flat roads there. I noticed since my move last summer, mine has went down. Being on the outskirts of the Applicaian Mt's, it's very hilly around here. I used to average in the 28 range on my commute to work. Now it's in the 25-26 range. But I imagine the Atlanta traffic has something to do with that also......

There are a few hills.... just all open roads.. I might hit two at most
signals going and returning home from work...

Have custom tune, headers, high flow cats, upgraded exhaust, and cold intake., light weight pullies.... probably all helps..

The Phoenix metro area is pretty much flat, and I average 28 mpg, or so, including the really hot summer months when we hit 117-ish or so. Thus far, I'm happy with the HHR's mpg. I've had my 2006 2LT since October 05.

Did you reset that when you were going down a hill?

I tease, I tease!

Just a thought, but this being my first post here, I wanted to share some great results with you all, but needed several months of scientific analysis to be able to prove what I claim. I install Hydrogen Assist Fuel Cells in vehicles. One of my earliest installations is on my own HHR ('08 LS). I have achieved 48 MG @ 80 MPH!!! Consistent too. This little engine loves the Hydrogen gas and this all on standard (no alcohol) 87 octane fuel. As you all are aware, there is barely any room in the engine comartment, and the area in front of the radiator is all there is. I managed to eek a unit there with about 1/16" to spare! Quite the feat. If any of you are interested, I'd be happy to pass along what I did, and how I did it. I know that I can get 50 MPG or better out of "her" but have no time to play with my own car. People are starting to get interested in the concept of "Hydrogen on Demand" Fuel Assist Cells, as the price of gas rolls upwards. I got into this 2 years ago after closing my business of 34+ years. Glad this happened to me, as I have had the luxury of being able to devote 100% of my energies ino learning about this great salvation that is available to everyone. It is all over the Web, and is mostly "open source". Many people getting involved in this. It IS going to change us all and how much fuel we consume. Gains of 50% are common; I know of several 100 MPG (documented) vehicles. Tuning is the hardest part, but (we) have this (almost 100%) solved...
By the way, your on-board computer display, the one that shows "MPG inst" is not as accurate as you may think. It does take the numbers from the ECU in real time, but I have seen it off as much as 2.4 MPG (less than). I have sophisticated instrumentation to log the real results as my vehicle is an experiment.
Just a thought...
Best to all of you and yours,
sfttailpaul

Hey Crazy Car Kid, did the stubby antenna improve the reception in your radio? I absolutely hate the antenna that they used, and I have seen where others complain. If it did, could you please share manufacturer, etc.? Thanks in advance...

As for the reception, I did not notice an improvement, it works just the same as stock... If you lived in a rural area it may be different... I don't know. As for the manufacturer, I unfortunately do not know that...I received it for free from a member who did not need it...

I am averaging hwy/city of 39.1 with a SS model and Stage kit applied. I'm very happy.

[edit: just checked, and I am at 39.3 for average. I assume another 2000 miles and I will pull even better]
