Recommendations for what? If your getting worse mileage with E85 (and it will) then burn 87. Not sure what the cost differance in your area is. Some area's it's a wash, some are charging more for E85 that they should.....

Use E87

I've always used E87 and get 19-24 town and 30-32 highway in my 2006. Plenty of power for this size car and use. :thumb:

Do you mean E85 (85% ethanol) or 87 octane gas?

You mean regular 87? Not ethanol right? Because they didn't make flex fuel on the HHR in '06. You'd probably get some really bad mileage if you used it!!!!:corny:

I ran a tank of E85 thru my new 2010 2LT...it averaged 16mpg (mostly town driving)...I refilled with Premium and am getting in the low 20's (again, in town).

the cost differential in South Florida is not enough to offset the lost mileage. Cheaper to run regular "pump gas".

Ethanol is just a political "ploy".

And it's laughing because it cheats you out of mpg?

Yep. And because it also creates just as much pollution.:corny:
