Fuel mileage test round 2

Second tank since buying my HHR. 2.2 Auto. The only thing differant is I raised the tire pressure up 3 to 33 cold. Here are the numbers:

164.9 miles
5.9 gal
27.8mpg comp showed 27.9
33 pis tires cold 35psi hot
76 brand gas
87 octang
$3.87 gal
$23.05 total cost.
The one differance was the outside temps. It was mid 50's this week and mid 60's last week.

Im running 87 oct and getting aprox 25,4 ROUND TOWN. TRYING HIGH TEST 91 OCT. 25.7 I think it will get alittle better once it warms up and I do not have to warm up the HHR. I have a 2011 2.2 auto.. Havent made any trips on the highway yet to see what I get there.. The HHR D.I.C. id about 1.5 gal off when I figure it.. I had the HHR about 2 months and LOVE IT! :)

The test was one week back and forth to work, nothing eles. A good road trip all freeway could yeld a better result. I agree with you. the cold weather I think does hamper MPG. The motor make better power in the cool. The best mileage I have gotten in any of my cars or trck was spring and fall time. Before and after the A/C season.

I have done a few different MPG runs and this is what I found out. This is with new studded snow tires on.

Mix 50/50 Highway and around town 25mpg.
Freeway run at 65 mph 29mpg.
Freeway run at 75 mph 26mpg.

This was all done on 87 unleaded.
