Got to love that HHR MPG

I have been driving a 07 TB SS AWD with the 6.0L V-8 Vette motor for the past 3 yrs. The BEST MPG I ever saw with that was 16.0

Now granted I drive over 80mph regularly and that was probably keeping it around 77-80mph but with 4 adults, 1 infant(w/seat), and a trailer hitch luggage rack. Mix in some slow driving due to snow & traffic... still 16.0 the best.

my 2010 HHR SS gets me usually around 20mph around town with the a/c on and 22 without. But the wife took it on a biz trip this week and when I got in it yesterday to drive to work... I noticed this...

Needless to say I'm more than excited. I also expect this to increase slightly as the car only has 2500 or so on it.

Sound about normal to you guys?

Doing only highway miles I easily get around 34 mpg. Throw in the mix of city driving and it brings it down to around 25-27mpg.

My average is around 25-27. It's down a bit now since i don't have any classes I haven't been doing much expressway driving.

Yeah she had some city driving to work then off to Mt Pleasant but it was still allot of highway.

I recently got 27.4 mpg on a 1000 mile roundtrip from Puerto Vallarta to Mexico City. With the exception of going through a few towns all of it was high speed driving (80+ and more than a few blasts to 125+) while crossing numerous mountain ranges. Blows my mind. I got my license in the early sixties when gas was cheap but you used a lot of it to power.

Best I ever got on a tankfull was @520 miles, all highway, was 33.5 MPG.

I average over 30 MPG this summer with most of it long trips on mostly secondary roads with a little highway thrown in.
That's with very little traffic & very few stops but plenty of hills & mountains.

I get about 27 around town.

Nope, another credit union for a seminar. My wife is the director of marketing at her local CU.

Are you guys with the higher MPG, driving sticks or autos? And how agressive do you drive?

My SS is an auto and my driving style varies daily.
