Back in the dark ages, we would install a 190 or 195 degrees thermostat, for heat in the winter.
then in the spring install a 160 to 175 thermostat for cooler running in the heat of summer, back then , no A/C, no computers, heck , there wasn’t anything but an idiot light to let you know you had overheated.

But with our trucklets, 180 F degrees, it what the computer is programmed to search for and the time to reach heat and maintain those temperatures
These guys were aiming at 100 MPG

If Richard Petty drove a Honda instead of a Plymouth.

Earlier I typed Super Bee when I meant SuperBird.

I knew you meant King Richard in a Superbird!

King Richard was off driving a Ford,

1969 Ford Torino Talledaga , note the front grille and bumperstretched forward several inches In search of downforce and aero dynamics

He chased more rear downforce

How many MPG do you think this Superbird would get?
This is a drag ProMod car.

MPG of what is the question... methanol, alcohol. or what ? That ProMod looks like it could literally fly.

That blower sticking out of the hood will be a source of drag.
you need to get low down out of the wind, like this

Considering it's only going to go 1/4 mile I don't think that would be a issue. The body shape has cleaned up the OEM drag and downforce at the speeds this thing will go.

King Richard said the wing actually glued the rear end down compared the other cars of the time.
