Hello,
Just back from a trip to New Brunswick Canada where I got 30mpg (Can) at 104km/hr with loaded car and utility trailer and 37mpg (Can) with 2 adults and 2 children at 114 km/hr.

HHR is new to me (June 2011) box stock 2007 LT 2.4 -5 speed with 307,722 km on it as of today, so it's well broken in.

Only changes to date are newer injectors (one was bad creating an intermittent miss) air delivery system cleaned out & new filter, synthetic oil in engine and trans, NGK iridium plugs, new drilled front rotors with ceramic pads and rear drums with performance shoes. Also a set of General 225-50-16 UHP tires.

Pleased so far, but am shooting for 40MPG at 105 km/hr.

K&N cold air induction planned, after I research it some more.

RG

307,000 km?? Wow, that is impressive. I have a 2006 HHR LT 2.4L but only have around 87,000km. I've seen as much as 40mpg (Canadian) on a few trips between Calgary and Saskatoon. I also did about 31mpg (Canadian) while towing a seadoo between Calgary and the southern Okanogan BC.

Best milage so far on a 300 mile round trip was from London to Niagara Falls last week, 44 mpg (Imperial) 37 mpg (USA). Kept it just under 2000 rpm, 55 mph. Hypermiled !!! 2007, 2.2 auto with some mods. magnaflow, 2.4 intake manifold, Trifecta tune, synthetic Lucas.

What am I doing wrong? I get 19-21 city and 23-25 highway. Will share particulars, but one thing. my ratio is 3.91.

Also, is that fixed or adjustable? and is there anything I can do to get closer to 30mpg?
