A Picture of My MPG
Do you know how fast you have to drive to average 150 mph for 90 miles? With some mountains thrown in for fun? At speeds up to 165 mph, in the 2002 May Silver State Classic Open Road race, I averaged 150.054 MPH for the entire 90 mile race on a 2 lane highway. Now that is the way to find out what its like to drive like you really want to. All car guys outta try an open road race at least once.
PS: My Corvette averaged over 10 mpg for that trip also.

Bad cleveland, bad.....
Hey chevyorange – I would not call you obsessive about keeping records like that. I have a fuel mileage log from day one that I brought my baby home. On average I get 27 to 28 mpg in spring, summer, and early fall. In late fall through winter I only get 24 to 26 mpg. I also use the MyGMLink on Yahoo to keep a record of all services, warranty work, and other repairs to my baby. Obsessive – NO ; Passionate - YES
i had a 73 Pantera deleted all smog equip. was driveing to Phonex,Ariz. on bussines was trying to make in 3 hours from L.A., calif. almost 155 mph the whole way, I could cruise from San Francisco cruize at 135 and get 32 MPG, with my 06 2lt hhr i average 16 mpg.
Me too - SUCKO MILEAGE
I get the same Jay, lucky to see 18. Average speed is 15 mph.
Wish I had a 73 Pantera, always loved them. Out of my price range now.
I made a spreadsheet to keep on google docs.
You can see my chart here: (edit: no you can't. lol)
Since last February, I drove 7000 miles (including a 2000 mile road trip), average 23.7 mph (22 city, 32 hwy), best was 35.4 and worst was 18.0.
I normally drive about 325 miles a month, 99% city. The DIC averages 1.3 mpg above actual mileage (5.6%).

I have such a hard time keeping track of my mpgs... I can do it on trips, but I just seem to forget on a day to day basis... I even put a little log book in my cars, but I still forget to keep track...
