Ever since I bought my 06 HHR, I never liked the 3 cup holders in the center console. So a couple of weeks ago, I saw a pic on the Internet of a different center console that has the cupholders fully surrounded, and was introduced in 2008. I headed down to my local GM dealer and ordered the 08 center console and replaced my current one. The piece is easy to get off, just engage the e-brake and pull the plastic piece off from right behind the shifter. There are several color available, I had cashmere, so there is no color mismatch. The only catch is it cost $130 bucks, but no more spilled drinks. Pics will follow tomorrow. I was told all 06-07 have the half moon cupholders and 08-up have the fully surrounded ones. No tools are needed, I actually did the switch while driving, not recommended but to show ease of install.

EDIT: I was wrong about the year, I thought the guy was looking up the 08 diagram, but he was looking at the 09 diagram.

On the 06 the part number 4 includes part numbers 1,2 and 3, so you only need to order 1 part.



On the 09, the part number 3 includes part numbers 1 and 2, so you only need to order 1 part.

Wonder when those came into effect, my 08 doesnt have that style. Not some thing i will go pay for seeing as ive never had a problem with my current ones, but I do like the look better.

agreed, my 08 doesn't have those either. I got it in July and it hadn't been sitting on the lot long at all.

Only '09s have that cupholder. My late '08 doesn't have that style either.
