2008 Chevy HHR 2.4L

I have a black 2008 HHR 2.4L. I just wanted to see what all you other HHR owners have done to tune up your HHR's. What I probably want to do is blacken most of the car, get a spoiler, get new rims, new tires, new brakes, and possibly find a way to get more horsepower to go faster. If you have any suggestions or anything let me know. Thanks.

All the topics you are requesting information on........wheels and tires, grill replacements, decals and chrome, some performance mods like intakes, exhausts and tunes., brakes.... is well covered in many threads. If you use the search function, located on the second menu bar from the top, you will find many threads with that info.

Good luck and WELCOME:thumb:

Check the pictures and media section. There's a bunch of threads there from members showing off different things they've done. There are several of us that have done quiet a bit of modding. I've only had my wagon since March and have done just about everything I want to do to the outside of my wagon...not planning any performance mods until my warranty expires since a tune is critical on these cars to maximize bolt-ons.

The Airaid intake mentioned above is an EXCELLENT jumping off point as far as performance mods go. This is my black '07 2.4L 2LT. I haven't done a lot as far as go-fast parts go, except for the Airaid. Mine has Goldline lowering springs on the back, Weathertech vent visors, tint on the front side windows, and I recently added the Cragar wheels you see in the pic.

Think of your HHR like a blank canvas PhightinKris, its just waiting for you to make it your own. The mods here run the gamut from mild to wild, some are outrageous and over the top, other are real "sleepers" that don't advertise much at all.

I like to keep mine in the "sleeper" category, all the goodies are pretty much hidden, you can't see a performance intake, rear sway bar, uprated suspension components, exhaust(well a little bit showy on the exhaust), and a tweaked engine. But I know they're there, and that's the fun part for me.

"I like to keep mine in the "sleeper" category"

X 2 (under the radar)

Exactly sleeper, I like to spend the money on the parts you can't see, but you can feel the difference. And flying under the radar has its advantages, HHR's just don't look "fast" to the average person or LEO, that's a good thing.

There's nothing wrong with doing the exterior over, and some people here have really made some outstanding HHR's, but I've always spent the money on the "greasy bits".
