2008 hhr eng pwr reduced
Tell us the model. There are differences year to year as far as the engine codes listed in the glove box sticker.
FYI. 8th character in the car's VIN tells you what engine it has.
2.0L---M
2.2L---B
2.4L---V

I also noticed that the power was restored after turning the vehicle off then back on. The ‘eng pwr reduced’ display went away. There is static build up on the vehicle too. When you touch the vehicle it shocks you.
Never had it done but I thought AutoZone, ect. only used a generic scanner to get you into some sort of ball park for a code problem.
Since we don't even know what engine we are talking about battery test is the first thing to do.
The throttle body is 4 bolts and an electrical connector. Relearn consists of idling for a minute turning it off then idling again; rocket science!
I really doubt the throttle body has anything to do with it. Since you also have transmission codes You should be looking at wires and connectors and fuses and battery.
A common cause of the P2544 is, in fact low system voltage.
Do you get repeated shocks from touching the car or just one then none on the second contact?

Can you show where just idling is the relearn for the throttle body? Have to know.
Don't you think if the engine can't perform well the shifting can be affected ?
Did find this on code P2544. Open to discussion on it.
