My car was broke into and the anti theft device was broken wires snipped. I got one from another car and did a key re learn and now starts and then shuts off. I have pics to support my question due to not being mechanically inclined. So I'm wondering what I should do or should of done? Also security light is on and someone's it blinks sometimes it stays on.

 

The new to you anti theft sensor should be vin matched to your car

 

photos a bit blurry, damage looks a bit messy. After you repair and duplicate back to original.
I'd think some type of sync relearn is needed to co-ordinate all the systems.
like a GM radio has a lock-out so it can't be stolen or even legally purchased used and put into another vehicle without coding.

Not exactly sure of process. Need a tool that will reprogram and snyc the devices would be a lay-mans description.
Used to be a scan tool now-a-days I think it's more a computer able to alter the vehicles systems
