Been trying to get up my driveway 3 days now and she just wont pull, got it to where it is yesterday and she spun a bit so I couldnt back down, so its stuck for good until it melts... about 2 " of ice under an inch or 2 of snow... P.O. that my truck was totaled last year and still waiting on a settlement.
Im kinda baffled in a way since the HHR had no issue getting out last year but that was just snow, and the ice has completely covered the gravel so theres 0% traction even with the new tires.
How would I turn off the esc on my 2007 HHR? It seem like putting it in 1st gear on the automatic Trans does it, but never this anywhere in the manual.
yup, then the dash lit up like a christmas tree with ABS/TC and whatever else scrolling across... she wont grip anything. I dont want to call a tow ust to winch me out yet, trying to find someone to pull me out, got to figure where to hook the chain on the front as its going to be a tight squeeze to get under the front.
4 years living here and this is the first Ive been stuck, again this is the first that we got ice like this too. Kinda bummed and a bit PO as I cant get out ( roads are cleared ) and need to hit the store before more snow hits tomorrow...
Tires vary wildy in snow and ice perforance, and rubber compound is a big part of it. Sounds like yer new tires are best reserved for Summer duty.
My next set of year-round tires will have the "three peak" stamp. Mandatory in parts of the EU in Winter, I understand. A few all-season tires in the U.S. are thus marked. Most aren't.
