So, I just got done spraying my salt brine mixture to melt the snow in the driveway, lets see how that goes today....

I used what I had available ( Sea Salt, Pink Himalayan Salt, Dawn dish soap and Windshield washer fluid ) should be a potent mixture, I liked the blue tint it had so I could see where I actually sprayed. The sun is supposed to be out but still overcast and looking to be changed to partly sunny... ehh lets see what happens today.

Unfortunately I dont have any... and the wood chips went in the chicken coop last fall... I need to get several bags of cheap clay cat litter or sand once I get out of here.

Only slippery if you use a ton of it, I used 1 teaspoon to 4 gallons so it helps with distribution and sticking to the gravel and not just wash away once the melting process starts, dish soap leaves a film, same as using dish soap with vinegar and salt for weed killer, it breaks the surface tension to attach and spread better.

Maybe a bit of alcohol to keep the water from freezing, but I doubt you'll ned it with the salt. Wish I had a garage or at least a driveway. Stuck parking on the street and when it snows... gotta find a parking spot somewhere. Usually 3 blocks of walking uphill both directions (of course) times 3 cars....

I used 50/50 hot water and washer fluid, it has alcohol and wont freeze. I bit the bullet and chopped the ice up, took about an hour to make 2 paths for the tires about 30' long I finally got out , tried to park by my mailbox but it was gonna get stuck there for sure, so I just lined up and backed back down the paths, been out a few times today already after being stuck a week... the ice softened a bit and with the full sun tomorrow it should warm the gravel to help melt more on the driveway. I went and bought a green house for the wife today, surprisingly it fit inside the HHR, tomorrow to pull it out and Shed it down the hill to the garage. Got a damn good deal on it Normally $900 on sale for $500

Holy Moly that box was heavy, tried to slide it down the drive on a tarp.... that was a no go, then mounted it on a dolly, that was a no go as well, took awhile to drag it down and up to the house... I ended up sticking it in the house as I didnt have enough a** to lug it another 40 yards to the shop..... I wanted to start sealing the panels and have things ready to assemble once the snow melts, looks like I may be carrying it out in pieces, not lugging that box !

Glad you got your HHR out! hopefully not too much damage. Quite a buy on the greenhouse. Seems like most of my projects get heavier than I can lift at times. We did get a whopping 2 inches of snow over theweekend and now temp is -2 degrees out. forecast says it will warm up to 39 by friday, then back down to around 0 after that. Must be January in Minnesota.
