3M adhesive Promoter... HELP
this is a green thread... no critics... or bashers
opposing opinions ok as long as it is informational OK here s my problem.... my vision is very limited... and i use my fingers to alian objects... when using the promoter... things are instant tack... is there a way to slow down the reaction on some items... decals... laminates... films... i generally use a solution 1/2 oz of rubbing alcohal... one drop dish soap in a pint of distilled water to give me slide around time... does anyone know if this will work on the 3M adheive tape with out bad side effects... or any other VALID suggestions the parts that i am dealing with are engine DrsUP pieces from CCC ruined a marker light trim piece because i used the promoter... picked up the piece... front instead of the rear... instant stick... no time to remove or reposition:( any thoughts |
With a 3M VHB type tape there is almost no chance for alighnment. When I use the adhesive promoter it almost becomes tacky without any adhesive. So I sometimes use a low bond adhesive or dont use promoter but rather clean thoroughly with a degreaser.
