Depending on the fasteners you might get them to flex enough as you tighten the self tapping speed nuts sometimes called pal nuts

Good idea ! I'll try to find out what their made of. The only downfall of these is waxing around them. If Ican get them flush , removable fasteners maybe remove them then wax or polish ....John

Or don’t drill holes in a perfectly straight hood! Your choice

Those prongs predate today's adhesive technology and are now obsolete.

I remember my dad insisting the Chrysler dealership put his new Imperial in the body shop to have the dealer logo removed from the trunk lid.

One of my top priorities with any vehicle is to remove the dealer added "free" advertising from my ride when feasible.
All for the custom look. The Chevrolet emblems from a different era fit that criteria.
I'd say adhesive is the way to go. Although the "original" emblems are altered its preferable to me than holes in the hood.

I took my HHR letters off the hatch of my 2008 and with another R from salvage yard modified to letter P
I rearranged the order to my initials PRH. No one mentioned noticing that.
Many more including law enforcement noticed my astro van mod. Removing all emblems, I added one.
Took the bowtie off the front grill and replaced with a Ford oval that I modified the d to an e
spelling "Fore" hand painted a golf flag and ball next to it.
Giving a road worthy meaning to my driving habits on and of the course.
FORE get out of my way, of possible clear and present danger!
Officer comes back and says the registration and model don't match. It doesn't say Ford sir it's Fore.
BTW how's my driving?
