Hi Woody, :welcomewagon: to the forums!!

If you're sure that is the only issue with the car, then it's probably a good deal. I say this because transmission codes cannot be read with a standard Elm327 device like the auto parts stores use, you need a better scanner for these. That being said, in California(as you're probably aware), auto parts stores can no longer legally read codes. So you may have gone to a shop to get the diagnosis.

Donbrew, thanks for moving this, I was just heading to do it myself.

Moved to a new thread.

I din't know what you are asking. If the code tells you it needs a new trans solenoid you should ask a trans shop for an estimate. then deduct that from the KBB.com price.

The part costs about $28 and labor is probably about 6 hours. You would probably replace some other stuff while in there, like fluid etc.

Welcome to the site, if you’re buying it for $1,600.00 yes great price, a little fixing to do, but worthwhile.
These are fun rides, great on fuel, easy to repair, if you’re able to get the actual codes showing, and post them here , we can decipher them and advise you better.

Well, yes, I always recommend at that mileage , change the timing chain and the balance chain to ensure , long life.
