Anyone ever see a Golden Teal 2LT?
While I was shopping for my 5-spd 2LT, I came across this one:

I love that color. They have it way overpriced, IMHO, but I offered them $11K for it and they said they'd take it.
What queered the deal is that Indiana has different sales tax laws than most states. They make you pay 7% sales tax whether you register it there or not (every other state in which I inquired about HHRs: OK, TX, CO, AZ, NY, WY, and GA only charge the tax if you register the car there). Now it's true that most states have reciprocity rules and if you pay 7% in Indiana, you only have to pay any difference (e.g. if your state charges 7.5% sales tax, you'd owe your state 0.5% tax), however, NM doesn't charge sales tax, they charge "excise tax" of 3%, so I'd have had to pay the 7% tax AND the 3% tax. That brought the total up to $12,100 w/o title and license. Too rich for my blood. I was already going above my original limit with the $11K offer.
So, anyway, since it's a rare combo (5-spd, Golden Teal, 2LT), I thought I'd bring it to the forum's attention if anyone near there
is interested.

Just so there's no confusion, I DIDN'T ended up getting that HHR, so if anyone is interested,
it's still available as far as I know.
I have to say I think Golden Teal is my all-time favorite HHR color. The Daytona Blue I ended up getting is a close second, but that Teal is just awesome beyond words! The funny thing is, I'm not sure it would look good on many other cars...just the HHR.

Good luck on your hunt. Are you looking for a 2.2 or a 2.4 engine?Five speed 2LTs aren't common though they do seem to be slightly more prevalent in 2006 and 2007 cars.I found out that my 2LT 5 speed 2.4 is one of 249 made in 2008.

There is one other car I think looks good in teal and that's the Oldsmobile Alero. That and the HHR are the only two cars I have found so far that I like in teal. They both look good in that color imo.

Oh, Teal as a color can look good on a lot of cars (particularly that darker shade as on the Alero), but that particular shade of Golden Teal on the HHRs is very unique. I remember seeing a 2007 Malibu with that color and not liking it much. Something about the lines of the HHR make it breathtaking, though. It would probably also look good on a Beetle.
