I don't know if anyone has done it, but you would need:
Manual transaxle/clutch
axle shafts?
new gearbox
computer/harnesses
and probably other nuts and bolts

also, I could be wrong but the engine is may not be in the same exact location as the manual.

Good Luck with the swap if you go thru with it:twothumbs:

The only practical way to do it is to buy a salvage manual hhr and start swapping parts. Shifters, clutch master and linkage,PCM,misc sensors, flywheel, ect it's a lot of parts and a lot of work but anything can be done given time and money.

....Clutch pedal and mounting hardware. Std trans brake pedal.(yeah it's different) and on and on and on-----

Cost not justifiable...too many different parts not to mention the reprogramming (electronics) involved..not just a bolt in swap like ...the old days. Plus theres different gearing which actually falls under the reprogramming nightmare...trade it in..start over

I know this is an old thread but I’m doing the auto to manual swap and it’s a lot cheaper and easier than everybody thinks

you just have to turn the transmission off in the tune. Changing the gearing doesn’t have anything to do with your tune with a m/t

With hhr it doesn't make any sense. Sell auto and buy manual.
