Question Bcm, tcm, pcm, ecm????????????

What does our cars have?? I thought we had a BCM and PCM, but everytime I use the term BCM with a person they keep correcting me and saying I must mean TCM.

BCM=body control module, ???????????? what does it do?
TCM=transmission control module, ????????????

WFT??

I am very confised and someone is using it against me. Can someone PLEASE help me out?

We have a:

BCM = Body Control Module.
ECM = Engine Control Module.
TCM = Transmission Control Module.
PCM = Powertrain Control Module (Used prior to our vehicles which was basically an ECM and a TCM together).
EBCM = Electronic Brake Control Module (For ABS equipped vehicles).

And there are others that aren't important.

Holy cow. You're working backwards. There are multiple pn's for each of the modules that ChevyMgr called out, depending on year, trim level, motor, trans, production run, etc.

I think a TCM, by an internet search. I wont' know until Monday because I have the weekend off. Yay!!

If it is mounted where the ECM is it's a TCM if it's a BCM it's the interior electrical center (fuse box).

Mike give me your last 8 of the VIN and I will find out what part number BCM and TCM you should have.
