This is the most mysterious part I've ever seen. It was laying on my manifold when I removed the TB, and I've been looking for where it belongs, but I don't know how to look up a part by visual. Does anyone happen to know where this part belongs?

 

Hard to tell what size it is.
Kind of looks like some sort of shipping seal plug that you would find on new parts to keep dirt out. Like a plug on a new AC compressor ? AC line ?
(Just wildly guessing here)

 

I’m not familiar with that shape for an HHR part.
Perhaps as FMG indicates it from a part installed like this AC compressor, check out this picture

 

Wow, those 2 pics look exactly the same. Good detective work, guys! So previous owner put a new compressor on, and buried that under the engine cover
