I cant argue with that EXCEPT I gave a whole new name to "bouncing baby boy" as an accident prone child, riding and doing BMX stunts through teen years, getting hit on a motorcycle 3 times ( one, a drunk driver putting me in 6-1/2 hours reconstructive surgery ) then all the heavy labor Ive done.... I tore myself up ! So I push my kids to use their smarts and get brainiac jobs instead of wearing themselves down. wish Id listen to this advice back in my days LOL

I broke out the chemical warfare... Detailed the carpets, corrected the spare tire/jack so it would stop rattling. The Battery vent is connected as well as drain tubes, sump is dry as we had a major storm pass through last night. Floor mats were a bit soiled so got them in the washer to get them deep cleaned.

Today I installed new hatch struts....finally it rises to the occasion !
Did a tune up, New ACDelco Iradium spark plugs ( replaced autolites that were in decent shape still ) also applied anti seize to new plugs. Engine is fairly clean, not going to scrub it until after the trip.
New air filter and cabin air filter
Dumped a can of seafoam in the tank before all this to help clean the engine/exhaust
Cleaned throttle body.
Took it for a spin, took a bit to start initially, was wondering if I did something or if the computer got confused ?
Took her out for a spin and she zipped up and down the road !!!!

Yup, staying with ACDelco and MOOG parts. Learned from my 08 I had. Later I will be replacing the VVTs just to be safe. Taking the HHR in to get the TPMS sensors replaced and alignment so its ready for the trip. Got a little shimmy on hard braking which I think is the LCA as the previous owner only changed the passenger side.... we all know they need to be done in pairs. I used ACDelco on my 08 which were great but think Im going to go with MOOG this time as they should be heavier duty ?

Moogs aren’t any more heavy duty, I pressed in Moog problem solver rear bushing and Delphi ball joints. Trying something different from Moog ball joints, no problem yet! 7 months in.

By many accounts Moog ain’t what it used to be. They’re riding on a long-standing reputation that is no longer entirely deserved, apparently.

I like Rock Auto but sometimes I’d rather pull the part out of the box and have a look before deciding to buy. Or at least, with Amazon and Fleabay, the product is expected to look like the picture unless otherwise noted.
