Brakes/Warranty

I have a 2010 HHR with 16,500 miles are the brakes covered under the warranty ?

In cases such as brake shoes and pads, the answer is generally no because those are considered wear items and warranties usually exclude those. Some exceptions can be made for parts that are deemed defective or have a design flaw.

It's probably a mute question anyway. Since you have a 2010 model, it is past the 36 month warranty period, regardless of mileage.

Probably not, but check with your local dealership Service Department about your specific problem. Maybe, don't know what you are asking about.

You have the manuals that came with the car? There is an Owner Manual and a Warranty Manual.

If you would like to provide some specific complaints maybe we can help.

Hello Dennis,

As fireman stated, the warranty on brakes would protect you from defects in materials or workmanship. Are you experiencing some concerns you would like me to assist you with getting addressed? Feel free to reach out via PM with your name, contact information, VIN, current mileage, and involved dealership.

Sincerely,

Jonathan A.

Bought the car used don't have the warranty manual, just trying to find out if I have to pay for the brakes.

Thanks everybody for your help.

It depends on what warranty you mean. The bumper to bumper is 3yr/36000 miles, but does not cover wear only defects, Whoever sold you the car may warrant something, you would have to ask them.

At 16,000 miles there is something going wrong if you need new brakes.
