Bulb type

Looking for the little bulb that goes in the gear selector light up display. I had read it was a #37 so that's what i bought. It looked just like the one I took out but it's not. It is a tiny bit wider and will not fit into the socket. Anyone got an exact part number and brand. The only other one at autozone I believe was #38. Don't quote me on that number but it was a similar looking type bulb which I also doubt is the right size. Is this going to be a dealer only part?

I’ve always used the #37 mini bulb, check your bulb socket for any signs of melting

The owners manual does not refer to this bulb

The socket is in perfect shape

#37 will not fit into socket. The bulb that is in there is not as wide as the 37 but if you put them side by side you wouldn't know. It's not until you try to put it in that it becomes apparent.

Google searches only point to the 37. Nothing else that even closely resembles the bulb comes up.

I don't need to see the shifter I guess anyways, lol!

According to our sources, the 37 bulb is the one! See post 19 and 20

hmmm, interesting! #37 definitely does not fit. I'm curious if the #15879670 gm bulb is the same as the Sylvania #37. Will post after I get the bulb.

First pic is the #37 bulb. Second pic is the GM bulb #15879670 that I received today and is identical to the one I took out. The GM bulb fits perfectly and is definitely not the same as the #37.

This is on a 2009 LT. Hopefully maybe this post will help others having the same issue.

Maybe the socket was replaced or something prior to us owning the car, don't know.
