Any pins pushed out the back? Like loose.
Did you check the battery connections (they should not be loose enough to twist by hand) and the fuse near the battery ground?
Gremlins; Did you feed them after midnight?

OK, found my problem that I was getting communication error codes when trying to read OBD codes. I did NOT have the tranmission plug all the way locked in. Once I corrected that I could read the codes but got "BRAKE" light is left on. Will deal with that later. But thank you all for your ideas. Someone posted to check for bent pins that's what lead me to the unlocked connector..... my bad

A code reader reported that? What is to be dealt with? I don't understand anything about the comment.

Very poor practice to use code reader definitions instead of OBD code numbers. Every code reader has a different translation from English to Korean to Mandarin back to English.
