Most of my vehicles came with cargo nets. I took them all off and they are somewhere in a bin.

It doesn't really help to keep cargo from sliding around. The only thing it prevents is the cargo from sliding back against the hatch and then falling out when you open the hatch.

There are also cargo management systems that have popup compartments to keep cargo separate so it doesn't slide around. Like this:

Bonez- They are obsolete. I got mine many years ago off ebay NOS, for a Ford F-250 /Harley Edition. No one else bid & I got it for $38. shipped. They used to cost over $200.
It was so big, I had to trim off more than 40%, so the mrs has a piece in her trunk, as well as a runner in front of my main work bench.

& I'm here to tell you stuff does not move on it.

So you can put a bag of groceries back there and it won't tip over?

In my last life I was called upon to haul 2-4 1 litre cans of aviation fuel, the stuff works it's way right through the threads on the bung. I strung the net up between the 2 lugs on the left side and stuck the cans in the resulting "bag". No more stinking cargo area.

There are many ways to string it up, You have the 4 cargo lugs, then under the cargo bed there are several hooks if you raise it to the upper position.

You commented specifically about groceries in post #3. A bag of groceries won't slide, it will fall over, no matter what mat you have.

You were correct in wanting a cargo net. Or you can get a non-slip mat, and carry around empty boxes for your groceries.
