Cd player

The HHR CD player plays very good. I am sure the DAC inside and the analog section are well build. Anyone tried to upgrade for aftermarket speakers and how much did it improve the sound? I feel there is good potential there.

Yes many have replaced the speakers as they are a failure item for getting rusted connections. I did not put in expensive speakers but I did get a nice improvement in clarity and bass.

Do you have the Pioneer system with the subwoofer in back?

Search in Crutchfield web site they have a wide range of recommended compatible speakers for the base or Pioneer sound system.
Both my ‘07 and ‘11 have the the Pioneer system, very happy with both.

all I know is the audio system seem great but the speakers need to be refreshed. I did not know it was pioneer and I don't think I have any subwoofer.

Is thee any part/model number for that system by Pioneer? I would like to search more about it.

Take a photo of your RPO code sheet inside your glove box and post it , I can tell you what you have, or look in the driver’s side rear 1:4 panel for the sub woofer and pop the access plate for the tail lights see if the amp is there towards the front of the opening
