I started this topic praising the sound of the cd player and asking if changing the speakers improve the experience.

Ok... So previously, you didn't like Pioneer, but now you like the sound of your Pioneer CD player, and you're searching for another one. Got it!

It's not a Pioneer CD player. It's a Panasonic. I don't know why they seem to hide this information as if they wanted to steal the praise of another Japanese company. So the "system" is actually Panasonic AM/FM tuner, Panasonic Amp, Panasonic CD player, and Pioneer speakers.

Upon further research in the archives, the headunit is indeed manufactured by Panasonic. The labeling of the amplifier is not visible through the access panel, so I'll do some more research to try to prove who manufactured it.

A Google search for HHR amplifier turned up several results of eBay listings for used factory HHR amps, the ones I saw were all Pioneer.

Oh so the amp is not located in the headunit. Ok, well, then: Panasonic AM/FM tuner, Panasonic CD player. Pioneer amp and speakers.

Upgrade your amp and speakers and be happy! lol

UQ3 Audio system feature, Pioneer premium 7-speaker system
The amp and speakers are what makes up the upgraded option. Since they're both Pioneer, then it's identified as a Pioneer system.

The amp and speakers make the Pioneer system, the Panasonic HU is the only HU provided in the HHR , only difference is the single or the multi CD function. The XM radio unit is external to the HU as is OnStar

The Panasonic headunit also has the preamplifier controlling the Pioneer amp. The Panasonic headunit is what does 80% of the sound in an HHR. It's the source. They should have identified this system as a Panasonic, because it is.
