CGS - Ceramic vs. Painted
 

I did a search but couldn't find anything specific to this.

Interesting question. But, I believe SoCal, in one of his posts, indicated he is not carrying the painted CGS, only the ceramic......although other suppliers probably have the painted version.

Good question for SoCal...what are the benefits, etc. ?

Use Insulation wrapping on the tube, will help reduce engine compartment heat --

Ronzo.... yeah, I see that. But, check with Mike. The link for the ceramic version says he will only carry that version. Maybe until he liquidates the painted inventory.

So... Hv didn't really answer the question of whether there's any real benefit to the Ceramic over the Painted, or maybe I missed that too? Should I get new glasses? :D

I'm sure everyone with the non- ceramic coating ones, is going to get rid of their non coated ones...

So.. while keeping your old ones.. header/insulation wrap tape can provide you the benefit of heat protection to your intake...

I have a Motorcycle with ceramic coating exhaust... ( their still hot ) :2cents:

I'm not looking to start a thread which starts a fight... I'm just looking for honest (tactful) opinions here.

I have the painted one and love it! If the ceramic had been available, I would have gotten it for the looks. I can't see there being enough of a benefit, not saying there isn't one, to justify the cost for that reason alone.

I'll end up re-painting mine or having it chromed anyway.

And you are correct, his site is listing them again.
