Class 3 trailer hitch receiver?

I've done a bit of searching, and it appears the only option for an HHR is class 1, and maybe class 2. Is this correct? Was hoping to get a bike rack to carry up to 4 bikes, but I'm not sure that's possible with the 1 1/4" hitch receivers, and using a 1 1/4"-to-2" adapter sounds like it might not support the weight. Are class 3 receivers just too heavy duty to fit on an HHR?

How heavy are the bikes? I put 2 on the rack and hitch I have with no problems.

Two seems to be the limit for class 1. I need four, but maybe I just haven't found a class 1 rack that supports that yet, because I haven't spent much time looking yet. Been mostly just looking a hitch receivers so far because my bike enthusiast friend recommended getting a 2" one.

It worked, get a couple of the stabilizers to stop the sway

You’ll need one for 11/4” and one for 2”

Couple more questions, @Oldblue
1) Do I get the same size stabilizers for both the 1 1/4" and the 2"? I haven't looked extensively yet, but I've only been finding ones with these dimensions, that seem meant for 2", but perhaps also work for 1 1/4"?

2) What bike rack did you get and would you recommend it?

Thanks!

If you have the 1 1/4 inch receiver, then just get a four bike capacity rack and the 1 1/4 inch stabilizer

This fits a 2 inch receiver
