Convert or not

When I first bought my 09 HHR I came here and was told the AA5 was a rare model. I like my HHR but I also like the full panels and have an opportunity to purchase a set of Panel back doors with which I can convert my AA5 into a full panel. The doors even match my paint. What I won't have is the door opening controls other than the manual door handles. And after hearing the cost of the wiring harnesses I probably never will have the inside controls. I have given this a lot of thought but just can't seem to pull the trigger. Although I like the Panel look I think there are more pluses on the AA5 side of the equation especially if you happen to be a passenger in the back seat. What do you guys think?

For me the full panels are really cool. However, I really think the A5 is even more cool. I would stay with the A5. You can always think about getting a full panel sometime for a second ride. That would be crazy cool!

Your AA5 may be rare, but I would bet the panel is almost as rare. Resale on these things really isn't that great, I wouldn't worry about losing money on resale buy doing it.

If you have rear passengers a lot, you should consider the fact that riding in the rear without windows, or a way out, isn't very much fun. I guess you need to consider that as well.

If you got the solid doors and could keep yours in th event you decide to switch back, I would do it.

I know it is a tough choice to make.... I wish I had the AA5 and had to make that choice

Get the doors, swap em on, and keep the stockers.

Swap em out occasionally and keep the neighbors guessing!

Do a 3/4 panel, those are super rare, just swap out one door :D

But seriously, if you can get the doors, go for it. You can easily wire up a release switch, and avoid the costly GM harness. Plus, as stated before, you can always swap back to stock

Alternate sides. Keep your backseat passengers entertained.

If I decide to buy the doors are you going to come and help me change the doors every other day or at least once a week?

I'd keep the AA5 setup. I can probably count on hand how many AA5's I've seen. Full panels, granted most are work vehicles, are everywhere around here.

But if you can get the doors cheap, it will give you the chance to see how you like it, which is all that matters.

the 3/4 panel sounds cool have the driver side.. solid

and the passenger side with the window in the door for

safety reasons when pulling out in to traffic... ~
