Custom 2009 Panel-Found on Craigslist
I saw this on Craigslist in Dallas. Thought I would pass it on, here is the link, http://dallas.craigslist.org/sdf/cto/4414856905.html
I know nothing about this, just thought I would share in case someone was looking for a 2009 Panel http://images.craigslist.org/00M0M_j...yq_600x450.jpg (Added a pic from the ad to your post) |
I'm not digging the wood work :barf:
|
Well it's, um, different for sure...not my cup of tea.
|
not diggin' the Pinto wagon port hole either! but it technically is custom
|
I think it's a "Pinto window" copy, if I remember right the Pinto windows were like bubbles, they protruded a bit.
It's custom for sure, but they mixed their eras, kind of a 60's surfwagon, meets 70's custom van. |
I would venture a bet that there is only one.........:twothumbs:
|
Do you need a termite bond with that thing? ;)
|
That's hilarious. Looks like what you get if Firemangeorge had a bad accident with an old boat.
Buyers will be awfully limited. Still, I think it deserves an A for effort. |
I'm just not feeling it.. :barf:

If its a printed wrap the "wood" look is easily removable. Sadly the porthole not so much.
Anyone in Dallas want to go get some better pics? |

Subtract porthole window, add wood down sides of hood and along the side where porthole is, and it would be much better. |
Custom Panel
Hey Guys!
When I first starting looking at HHRs around 6 months ago, this vehicle was the first one I drove, here in Arlington, TX. He has a classic car company trying to sell it then. The wood panel wrap is pretty weathered and would have to be removed. The guy also put a wood trim kit (decals) all over his dash and console and done very poorly. The guy used it to show a line of beach shirts at car shows. The seats are pretty nice....he had them redone similar to a SS interior. The "roll-out" wood deck in back is a joke. The vehicle itself is in pretty good condition and the guy did take care of it. He has been trying to sell it for a long time. Of course, it is way too "custom" or personalized for most people like it is. He would have taken $10K for it 6 months ago! But I really didn't care for it. If the price was a lot lower and someone wanted to completely redo it, it wouldn't be a bad deal. That's my cents worth! |
woody wrap
I saw this panel at a local car swap meet about a year ago, talked to the owner he was a vender selling car themed Hawaii shirts. He told me a local sign shop did the wrap for him at a cost of about $1500. The detail on the wrap was very good and covered the tailgate too. I agree the "pinto window" looks terrible and would look better with woodgrain in that area.

Back in the day some dealers sold special edition HHR's with the portholes. I think it defeats the purpose of a panel. It does not look right and the placement of that one is wrong.
|
Had an idea. Remove the wrap and paint or re wrap black and add 5% limo tint to the porthole ..... I'd go 6Gs on it due to the work involved
|
It frightens me....

Try to think of it this way: It's like Charlie Brown's Christmas tree - just needs some love and attention is all. |
