I also installed an aftermarket mirror with the reverse camera screen that is a tad smaller than stock which helped a little bit.

My mirror can be adjusted to nearly touch the headliner. Then, Based on a suggestion here (sorry don’t remember by whom) I loosened the mounting screw and slid it up almost another 1/8 inch.
