One minute warmup in above freezing temps. When it starts to get into the teens and lower I usually let it warm up for 5 minutes.

I try and wait to 70*+ or - Then take it easy from then on, The HHR warms up fast !!! I drive Grandpa Mode :) worked for the past 10 years with my HHR :)
Also let my Truck warm a few minutes , It take way longer then the HHR .

My driveway exits onto a 55mph road.

I let it warm up 20-30 seconds.

Then I pull to the end of the short driveway and wait for a big gap in traffic so I don't need to stand on the gas as I pull out to get up to speed quickly.

If the car is warmed up fully (like when I stop home briefly to get something) then I accelerate into traffic quickly.

Having an SS, I find myself standing on the gas often .
