Having a door lock actuator issue.

If I lock the doors with the door lock switch, i can't open drivers door with the key. If I lock drivers door from outside with the key, I can unlock the door.

This is indicating to me that when locked from the door lock switch inside the car, it activates the actuator causing it to malfunction to the point where the door can not be unlocked with the key.

Locking from the outside with the key, does not activate the actuator, thus allowing the door to be unlocked.

Am I correct in assuming my observations are correct?

You may be asking why I don't use the FOB, it doesn't work, for years.

So, looking at Rock Autos site, link above, there doesn't seem to be one listed for the drivers side door. Is it universal?

 

Here is another scenario: The electronic lock pushes the mechanism a bit farther than the key linkage. Meaning either the linkage is bent or the mechanism needs lubing.

 

So going back to the question in my thread, is the lock actuator the same for the left and right front doors?

I think I need to replace my drivers door actuator.

They do not appear to be the same .

 

According to Rockauto, that is the dock latch assembly, not the electric door lock actuator.

Unless they are one and the same thing.............

Cannot seem to find one for the drivers door.

Among others, the listings don't say LF, but the spec does.
