Question Ebay foglights question

I am wondering, has anyone bought their foglights off of ebay?

The reason I ask is because I have an '09 LS, so all I have is those black grills where the fogs are supposed to be. If I buy the foglights off of Ebay (around $80) I need to know if they mount right up and I'll just have to wire them, or if I need some type of mounting brackets also?

I've done some searching but I didn't really find any good info on here. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

The brackets "should" come with the fogs, if they are GM parts...... On eBay? who knows. The factory fogs snap right into that opening after the black grills are removed, there are no additional metal brackets or anything. I guess if the seller states they are GM parts, you would be covered.... If they are an unknown aftermarket brand????

I have the 2LT, so mine came with them, I'm just giving some general guidelines. Some guys have bought eBay fogs and they said they were fine, but I don't know which seller/brand.

Check the "how to guides" section on this forum, I believe that the info you seek is there. My memory says that it saw exactly the "ebay fog light" installation thread, but then my memory is over 60.

I bought mine off of Amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/Chevy-PRO-B2E-...ar=1&carId=003

They were only about $90 for the set and mounted right into the bumper cover. I have had them in for about 6 months and they have served me very well. Worked great this winter and really helped me see at 5am on the way to work with snow and slush all over the front of the car.

The instructions for wiring them to the low beams on here worked great as well. Just search for them. You will need to run your own wires, there are not stock ones to use. I was able to get the plug ends for the fogs from Auto Zone so that you can just plug right in to the back of the bulb. It cost another $35 for wire, a relay, switch, plug ends, connectors and some heat tubing.

Rod,
We ordered fogs from e-bay over three months ago from ( I'm at work and can't remenber the three letter company name, logo is in light blue, common e-bay company). $ 82.00 taken from our account and still no fogs. Pleanty of B.S. reasons. They claim same day shipping.... BS. They thanked us for the order then screwed us. E-bay states they are a reliable company and they will fix the problem... More BS. Only e-mail contact.
They will not return messages by phone, just the same form letter. Still fighting w/ E-bay.

great to know. Eventhough you don't know the name, after that descrption, I'm sure I could figure it out if I saw the seller on there

I guess when I finally get them (in a week or two), I'll order them from Amazon

Hope it all works out for you!

VTFB68,

If you paid for them with Pay Pal then you will get your money back if they don't come thru.
What is the Feedback Rating for the company. It's posted on there add/auction where you made the purchase.
That tells you a lot about if they are reputable or not. Should be 95% or more with at least 50 transactions.
You can call Pay Pal seperately if E Bay fiddles you around to much.
