electronic stability control ?

Hello again I have another what is this type of question.
First? Is due all hhrs. Have the electronic stability Control second? Is what is the big large unit that is located on or near the rear axle on my "new to me" hhr. It looks like it may. be part of the esc It's about a foot wide and maybe 6 inches tall. I can try and get a picture later hhr.just curious I usually do all of my own maintenance and repairs so I kind of like to know what things are ahead of time

That large unit is the EVAP recovery system used to catch and recover evaporated gasoline fumes from the tank and feed them to the engine. Due to the EVAP system's close proximity to the fuel tank, its important that you don't overfill the tank, one or two clicks past the gas pump shut off is all you want....really trying to "pack" the tank can cause all sorts of problems.

ESC and ABS became standard from the 2009 model year on, before that you could have an HHR without those options either with a manual or auto transmission. If you're unsure whether your particular HHR is equipped with ABS and ESC look for option codes "JM4" and "NW7" on the build tag in your glove box.

Mine does not have it. I did not get ABS brakes, just one less thing to go wrong.
