Just got my HHR. When does everyone do their first oil change? And how trustworthy is the car's computer that tells me when to change the oil. I've heard of cases being 10,000 miles. It seems the "old" standard was always 3000 miles. And any suggestions on kinds of oil to use. I know we're suppose to use SAE 5W-30. I live in a cold clilmate (20 below in winter) and the manual mentions synthetic oil. Recommendations? I suppose I've opened a "can of worms"!!!

3000 for me.

 

So far 3350 miles and no oil change. My oil level is at 69%. I'm going to wait to 3500 or 4000

 

Chevy recommends 5000mi intervals with the HHR (both engines), but personally, I'm changing the first one at 3000 as usual.
