Engine replacement

GM is replacing my engine on my 2008 HHR because of an internal engine leak. How does this change my warranty? Does it extend it or just continue to 100,000.
What does this to the value of my car?

Best of my knowledge, you still carry the original warranty only.

The warranty is the same. 5/100 from the original in service date and mileage. Nothing is added or extended.

They do 12 months or 12,000 miles. But you would only get that benefit if that warranty went past the 5 year 100K warranty. In other words if an engine was replaced at 90K the warranty would go to 102K.

A warranty on any purchased product is specific in it's coverage. If the warranty is needed, then it's there to use. But just because something is replaced under warranty doesn't mean your warranty starts all over again, but rather it is still in force as designated by the terms and conditions of the warranty you were given when you made the purchase.
