Smile Finally I have one

Well everyone I finally did it today I purchased my new HHR!!!! I saw this vehicle about 7 months ago for the first time in chicago when me and my wife were going to see the rolling stones. We both fell in love with the vehicle and I decided there and then that I was going to own one at some point in the future.
I thought about this car and i researched the web and found this great site about 10 weeks ago and I can not say enough about what I learned on this site, when I went to the dealer today I felt that I knew more about the car than the salesman. I ended up with more than I wanted, I got a 2lt with leather, sunroof,xm radio, power everything, and chrome package. I knew I was getting a great deal but it was not until I came home and ran the numbers on the computer that I realized what an excellent deal I really got!!!!! I have never been this jazzed about owning a new vehicle and I have owned a few LOL, so I would just like to say thanks to you all for providing a newbie with the info on what to expect with the HHR. You guys rock and my premium membership is on the way. Peace Mark Fritcher

Congrats on the ride. If you do plenty of driving you will like the fact that the car is great on gas.

To be honest with you i've been easy with my ride, but I waited untill 4000 miles for my first oil change. I was told with a new car with Factory oil you can go up to 5000 miles.

they looked at me funny when i brought mine in at 1300 for the first oil change. but in every new car that i have owned, i change the oil after the first 1000, just so i can see if there is alot of metal shavings in the filter and in the oil. I might be a little anal in this area, but the 1st 1000 is consider the break in period. I have had some great results with switching over to mobil 1 after the 1st 1000. in my sentra, i used it as a daily driver, and autox it on the weekends. before i traded it in i did a compression check, car had 82,000 miles on the odo, and it was within the stock specs of 160-170, accross all 4 cylinders. The cavi, had a small amount of metal shavings in it but nothing to bad, compression is within faxctory specs accross all 4 cylinders, had dealer check this one. For me it is just a peice of mind, i really dont want those metal shavings floating around in there more than they have to. The dealer told me that the oil changes are due every 5000 on the HHR. I must say that after putting in mobile 1 in the HHR, my gas mileage has gone up, 2 mpg, and the engine sounds and feels so much smoother.
