Flex Fuel

I filled up at a Valero in Spring Tx the other day and noticed they had
E85 for $2.89 versus regular at $3.38. I was almost tempted to try some but
didn't.

My question has anybody tried E85 and what results did you get. I know the power and MPG will go down but how bad?

If you run just 1 tank, you will probalby see about a 20% drop. Thoe more you run, the better it is. We have some that run E85 exclusively and they are almost the same as the ones that don't.

For power, you won't see a drop. Maybe even a slight increase.

Every consumer type report I've ever read, says that it's not worth the money gains unless it's around $1.00 cheaper than regular gas

Thanks for the info. I found an old(06) in depth article from Car & Driver with some real interesting facts.
