Flex Fuel Question
Thanks for all the help, I've checked the O2 sensors and they are getting the correct voltage and seem to be functioning fine, I'm going to check for any emissions leaks fix that then turn the flex fuel back on with the scan tool and see how she does. I greatly appreciate all the advice.
First I have heard of any shop turning away business, usually the opposite ; overcharging and throwing parts at it.
So, nobody ever bothered to read the codes before? Everybody think the CEL is just a pretty light?
The reason for poor MPG is that the computer is in open loop mode, not using the sensors for input, and the cat is clogged unless the HPTuner thing did something like turning the sensors off
The computer calculates the Alcohol content based on input from the O2 sensors, not a specific alcohol sensor.

More and more I see folks getting their money taken by repair shops that don’t have a clue what they are doing. My GM dealer I’ve been associated with since 1968 has turned into a con shop, they give you huge $ numbers to con you into trading in your used car, attempting to get you to buy a new one!
a friend has a 2021 GMC pickup, really nice truck, it needed front pads, I told parts and labour $125.00, because I’m recovering from colon cancer he took in to that dealer and they charged him $275.00. It has a MIL light on and they told him it was too old to fix the abs computer was faulty. He brought it to me, I did a 30 minute battery lobotomy and it reset the computer, light is out and it stops just fine!
