Fobs/ keyless entry...

Where are threads/posts about keyless entry and Fobs. I got one key....one Fob for the new to me 2011 HHR LT, 2.2.
I understand the car has to be linked to Fobs via scan tool or locksmith programmer. The Fob i have will lock the car....but will not unlock it....panic button works......i dont think the remote start function is working or, im not doing it right
TPMS....also got left rear tire pressure showing up....guessing sensor in that tire is bad or dead.

Im new here and not to good at searching out what im looking for

Buttons that don't work could be as simple as dirty contacts or worn out rubber pad... The pads are like $5 each on eBay.

i took it apart...cleaned with alcohol...key pad appeared ok...new fob battery. Kind of weird cause when first got the car couple months ago...no lock or unlock. Panic button only. May need to have car battery tested. Maybe freaking the computer out...lol

Did you try jumping the fob contacts? It is not always just dirt. Please believe us we have been around and around this.

Like this, there are others:

You can test the fob circuit board without the cover or rubber pad by shorting the trace contact spots with any small metal object. If it works it's the rubber pad.

Adding foil to the pads is hit or miss, especially with the replacement rubber being so affordable.
