Front Passenger Seat Headrest Removal

Does anyone know how to remove the headrest from the front passenger seat? My wife says it pushes her head forward and she hates to ride with me because of it.

Theres a lil button to press at the base, & it comes right out.

Once out, You might try turning it around & seeing if that works for your Mrs..

One way it is forward, other it is leaning backward.

Those head rests are designed to prevent whiplash so it's probably a better idea to make it work somehow than to remove it.

^THIS is the correct answer. They are angled forward for a reason. Although, my wife is also one who has hers backward in her Traverse...

I liken it to not wearing a seat belt - when you need it, and you aren't using it correctly, don't blame GM if you suffer consequences.

Yeah she complained a few times. I fold the seat down to haul stuff alot.
So it kept getting left straight up. I could see it looked funny when she was sitting in it.

If the seat back is perfectly straight up, the headrest does make you feel like it's pushing your head down. But at a slight lean back it feels right.

When you take to get your state safety inspection be sure to have it installed. The old "if it came with safety equipment, then it has to have it", like seat belts in the 70's, when they were a factory option.

My wife reclines the seat significantly when driving along with me, so she doesn't have that issue.
