Ahh, the age old spoiler debate. The little bit a "wing" can do at high speeds is negligable at best. The idea came from racing, which of course really can take advantage of them. Of course, we all want people to think we're driving race cars. The spoiler, or air dam, in the front of a car serves an entirely different, and functional purpose. It moves air to the side of the car and reduces drag on the underside. Well proven in wind tunnel tests.

So the rear spoiler is put on for looks, nothing more. I've seen very few I really liked. The last generation of Camaro's had a spoiler that was so well blended into the lines of the car, it looked great. My old Cadillac Catera had a spoiler that didn't look too bad. The one on the HHR also isn't bad. But there again, I wouldn't go out of my way to put one on. But most cars look just plain silly with them.

How did I miss this thread. Lot's of strong opinions here.

When checking the HHRs out with my wife the first thing she noticed on the Premiere Edition was the spoiler was different than the others (this was pre SS release) and she went right to the Premiere.

Why do people with differing opinions need to flame each other in posts? Oh I know because they can. Until a mod stops it of course.

I just got a new vinyl top to go on my 66 Mustang. I like them on the right car.

I like them but as far as the HHR goes. Only one that looks good is the SS version. The Normal one looks like a Handle not to mention im not paying $300+ for a piece of plastic.

I thought the same thing until I saw it in person. The premier edition spoiler looks good too. It wouldnt stop me from getting a car, but I still wouldnt pay extra for it.

I like the look of the Premier edition spoiler. I could give 2 flying f bombs what it does, I like the look. If it does do something positive all that much better
